I picked up one of Camp River's direct delivery exclusives. I do admit I did not notice that the Starburst OG was a low potency strain and honestly, I'm really glad I didn't. Once again Camp River has put out a suspiciously cheap option. Starburst comes as 3 0.5g for $11 or 12 0.35g for $18. It is also not a high CBD strain at only 3%. These were the largest 0.35g I’ve seen in a while. They neither felt like or smoked like how pinners usually do and burned fairly well and evenly. They were a bit dry and burned fast but not hot, likely from the good resin in them. They did come just kind of bouncing around in a bag. I suspect they add nitrogen since even while sitting around and being moved a bit it never deflated. I really would have preferred a nice jar or a box just to keep them from getting bent or squished.

While the aroma was fairly muted, I did get a very nice set of flavors from the smoke. It was very pepper forward. There were some nice floral and fruity hints in there, just not with any dominance. This was after it had been sitting for a bit so it might just be a low flavor from age. I was not a fan of how ashy it got at the end. I did make it harder to taste anything other than pepper which is a big detriment to tasting the much nicer flavors underneath while smoking multiple joints. I also found out I can still get high off low potency as long as it is well done and Camp River definitely succeeded there. It was a nice and floaty body high that settled very well for the evening.

I really love these and wish BC Cannabis wasn't so hidebound and stupid so they could be carried on a mainstream level. Direct delivery in BC isn’t quite as smoothly done as Ontario’s flow through so it is very easy to miss many great products from stores not wanting to deal with the slight extra work. I hope Camp River does this in flower form too as I would love to see the buds and try it freshly ground. Excellent low potency flower is hard to find in any format unless it is CBD dominant and the market needs more of this or similar quality versions. It would be so nice to have a regular hybrid option to see along the usual San Raf Tangerine Dream which is the only other player for this market in BC.
