Packaging 4.5/5

A tall black can sealed with a Can’t Top lid, with their logo front and center. Adding a splash of colour in the middle makes it pop, but still look quite sleek. I also appreciated their choice of child-resistant packaging, making it a little easier for those with accessibility issues.

Visual Appeal 5/5

A bright lemon juice colour, some bubbles, and translucent. It wouldn’t take much to dress this up into a nice mocktail.Poured out of the can, the bright splash of lemon really stood out beside the black labeling.

Taste/Aroma 5/5

This was amazing! As soon as you crack open the can, you are smacked in the face with the smell of sour lemons. As I took my first sip, I was greeted with that same sour lemon taste that came from the use of real lemon juice. That sour was quickly balanced out with a perfect sweetness that comes from the 33g of sugar per can. This also had a very light carbonation to it which really complemented the tartness.

Absolutely no aftertaste. Sometimes beverages can vary from one can to the next, even within the same lot. Every can of Ray’s always seems to be perfectly cannabis-masked.

Effects 3/5

It’s just distillate. It’s just 10mg. It’s just average. Like all of my edible reviews, we’ll re-discuss this when Health Canada changes the edible regulations and allows for stronger edibles.

Overall 17.5/20 (87.5%)

This was the Summer of The Lemonades, with seemingly every beverage brand launching some variation. Being the completionist that I am, I knew I had to try to make my way through them all. Ray’s was getting a lot of attention among the cannabis community, so I was very eager to try this one and see just how good it really was. And, well… that’s a wrap, folks. The hunt is over, because this is the one.

Perfectly flavoured. Perfectly sweetened. Perfectly carbonated. No Aftertaste.

Although I have seen it priced as low as $6.99, I picked this up for $7.75. This does venture into the more premium priced bevvies, but this is certainly a more premium lemonade. If you aren’t so sure about the original lemonade flavour, they also offer a Strawberry Lemonade & Huckleberry Lemonade here in the Ontario market, with a Pineapple Lemonade set to drop soon. All three options are fantastic, but they do come in a little steep on the sugar content. If you are conscious about your sugar intake, these may not be the cans for you. But if you’re tired of watered down, flavourless lemonades, Ray’s has got you covered.
