McGill University Research Study on the Effects of Cannabis and Pain
McGill University Research Study on the effects of cannabis and pain. Done through Dr Martel's research team at the Montreal General Hospital.
A recent post on the SanteCannbis Instagram page started my interest in the study. After recently having my hip replaced and healing with cannabis instead of heavy narcotics I thought I would be a perfect candidate for this study. Turns out I was and got selected. I started my journey in documenting my daily consumption for science.
Some products i use are legacy and some are legal market. The round tin is a salve I made. I mix both legal and legal cannabis daily. This needs to be shown since legacy is still such an important part in some of our lives.
Edibles, drinks and capsules are also part of my regime. I know when my pain is high i need to consume more and not just by smoking but by other means as well.
Whenever I leave the house I have to make sure I have something with me. Nine times out of ten I don't spark one up. But every once in a while I find the perfect spot because we all know we still get “those looks” if anyone can smell us.
On the rare occasions I do head out of town for an event I always make sure to salve up first, pack some good green and try to be as comfortable as possible.
Having a good compact battery for my carts is a must. I will likely sneak in a puff or two if I'm out and about. Edibles are usually a daily occurrence for me. I do make a lot of canna butter and oils on my own but also enjoy seeing what compaies come out with.
My last photo submissions for the study.
McGill University is studying the effects of Cannabis and pain. Every day for 10 days I opened an app whenever I consumed or used a cannabis product and sent in a photo. I would also answer a few questions about how I was feeling. Was I depressed, angry or anxious. Did I crave cannabis, my answer to that one was always no. It's not a craving it's knowing when my body is starting to hurt that I've run low and need a top up. Much like a well oiled machine. I need green to go.
It's so important that studies like this are happening and I'm really proud to have been a part of it.
