XMG+ Grape Ape was the next release from the new XMG drinks with CBG and guarana. I kind of feel this was a great choice of flavors because the grape flavor just drowns out the guarana aftertaste for me. I would say this is closer to Crush than Fanta but honestly reminds me a lot of the generic purple drink that comes in big gallon jugs. This did seem a bit heavy for the bigger cans and it wasn't very chuggable at all. I think this might be a bit more easy to drink if it had come in the smaller cans instead.  I made the smarter choice this time and drank it during the day since the last time I tried a THC and guarana drink I was unable to sleep at all. It left me feeling more zoned out than energized but caffeine is not always energizing to me and the high I get from distillate edibles is always always sedative. I have noticed though this is the least popular of the CBG drinks in my neighborhood so clearly grape soda is not always a sure hit.

It has the usual 10mg of of THC with the addition of 10mg of CBG. What does kind of concern me is unless the store or budtender makes a point of it, there is no sign of it being caffeinated from the guarana. This seems kind of reckless to me since guarana can have an immense amount of caffeine compared to colas. Even Dr. Pepper and Pepsi have an indicator of how much caffeine is in them. My worry is they are avoiding doing this specifically to avoid a Health Canada ruling by acting like it is just a flavor additive. I would not expect this to be a long term product because of this because as companies found out with bulk packs of 10mg THC gummies, Health Canada does eventually figure out what rule they are breaking.
