Review
It’s been a very long time since I’ve smoked any Nugz product (or anything from Cannara as a whole really). After some friendly debate at work, my boss persuaded me into trying their Guava Jam. So today, on my boss’s recommendation we’re reviewing some Guava Jam by Nugz.
Packaging 4/5
Came in a yellow mylar pouch with an integra boost package, and included the dominant terpenes (as well as terpene content) on the package. They were also kind enough to include the Harvest Date as well as the Package Date. Historically, I have seen Cannara put some very old harvested product into their packages so to see something that was harvested, and then packaged a month later, is a nice change.
Visual Appeal 4/5
Buds were various shades of green with some orange hairs. Some buds were noticeably darker than others, sort of made me wonder whether they were the same batch or not. Really nice trim job done here, and a good level of trichomes were easily visible to the eye.
Bud Size 3/5
Average size buds, with quite a bit of popcorn at the bottom of the bag.
Bud Density 5/5
Excellent. No feedback here, these were great.
Moisture Level 5/5
Also fantastic. This was one category where I was extremely disappointed with Nugz in the past, and actually stopped me from repurchasing much of their product. It’s great to see that isn’t status quo.
Trichome Density 4/5
Not super frosty, but easily visible to the naked eye.
Aroma 3.5/5
Some very heavy fruity aromas coming from this bag! Slightly muted on the nose, but a very pleasant smell. I got a very plantain-like smell from the bag.
Taste 4/5
Absolutely delicious! This has a noticeably guava aftertaste, with a predominantly berry (strawberry?) flavour on the inhale. I kept finding myself wanting to smoke more. I’m committed to my bong, but this has a flavour that would really be enjoyed out of a joint.
Smoothness 3/5
A little harsh, I did find myself reaching for my puffer a few times.
Potency 3/5
This was where we got to the “average” side of things. I found myself looking for another bowl to smoke every 45 minutes or so. Not very sedating, but made me a bit of a space case and forget why I was walking into certain rooms.
Duration of Effects 3/5
Effects didn’t last exceptionally long, I found myself looking for a top-up bowl every 45 minutes or so.
Overall 41.5/55 (75%)
Okay, so this wasn’t bad at all! Visually, a beautiful looking bag and it also really nailed a lot of the sensory aspects of consumption like smell, taste, and harshness. At $39 for 7g I would absolutely recommend this to a customer or maybe even repurchase. Not quite as potent as I would have liked, but you get what you pay for and this was fairly priced. If you want to pay $5.50 a gram, there’s only so much you’re going to get that checks every box. This definitely helped my impressions of Cannara.
