High Ladies!! I had the pleasure alongside the rest of the Cannaview famjam receiving samples from High Ladies' newest drop of their first-ever release of flowers to the cannabis market produced by Cannjah. In case you are not a podcast listener High Ladies is a stigma-breaking cannabis podcast that has gained fame amongst its followers with Annie and Amanda as its host. I’ve been a fan of their podcast for a long time now and love their humour and their perspective on the Canadian cannabis industry which doesn’t get to be heard that much. I received the Tectonic Truffles. Now if I could paraphrase High Ladies' end line, it’s time to go scope weed.

*This grading was done through The Different Collective’s Grading System and thus has a grading out of 5*

Packaging: So I can’t speak on the packaging that much due to it being a sample. I will say that for brands giving out samples it should have the same amount of information on it as the actual packaging. The packaging I received had the terpene percentages and listed the terpenes as well as the growing method but didn’t have the THC, CBD % or the package date for those pieces of information. I had a PK package I got through a QR code they sent, it just felt like a weird disconnect between the information just because the THC and CBD % was a range of what it could be.

Score: 3.5/5

Curing: The curing of the buds could have been a lot better when I did the squeeze test the bud almost broke into many pieces and when I did it with another bud it did break into a couple of pieces. There was no spongy squishiness in any of the buds.

Score: 2/5

Bud Aroma: Tectonic Truffles had an aroma that was noticeable from about my chest after I broke the seal. It kinda smelled like a sweet mushroom with its notes of earth. There were hints of lime near the end.

Score: 4/5

Bud Appeal: The Tectonic Truffles eighth had some small buds. Samples having smaller buds isn’t always a bad thing. I would prefer samples to have the smaller buds of the crop and the more decent-sized buds saved for paying customers. The colour of the Tectonic Truffles was a dark purple with lighter purple hues to the buds, also had some nice splashes of vibrant green where there wasn’t purple. The stigmas were a nice bright orange and there were just a few trim leaves left.

Score:3.33/5

Final Bud Score: 2.78/5

Trichome Visibility: The trichomes that I could see on this eighth were easily visible and consistent through each bud that was in the sample that I received.

Score:4/5

Trichome Colouring: The colouring of the Tectonic Truffles. The majority of the trichomes were an amber or a brown colour both on the outside and the inside. There were a few spots of the buds that had some milky trichomes, making me think this bud might have been a part of an older harvest bud.

Score: 1/5

Trichome Development: The development of the trichomes of the Tectonic Truffles wasn’t the best in the world either. There was much more of a presence of the cystolithic trichome than glandular trichomes.

Score: 1.5/5

Trichome Score: 3.33/5

Dry Pull: I found when I rolled this into a joint, or rather put this into a Blazy Susan pre-rolled unbleached cone and dry pulled it, it had a very low flavour. I did detect a light sweet candy-like taste with a hint of freshness, almost like if you had a sugary after-dinner mint.

Score:3/5

Smoke Start: At the start of the joint I didn’t detect any correlating flavours with the dry pull besides the light sweet, and other than the light sweet it just tasted like generic cannabis and nothing.

Smoke End: The end of the joint was honestly a little bit disappointing as I only got a burnt taste and no flavouring besides that.

Score: 2/5

Ash Colour: The colour of the ash coming off the joint was a light grey with specks of salt and peppering. The light grey stayed consistent throughout the joint.

Score: 4/5

Smoothness: Holy heck Batpeople, the Tectonic Truffles was smooth the whole way through. I didn’t detect any tickle, burn or dryness at any point. It also was very smooth near the end something I find that rarely happens.

Score:5/5

Final Joint Score: 3.5/5

So the Tectonic Truffles by High Ladies and Cannjah. I had a balanced high that was perfect for chilling out and playing video games all night. I found this one to be a little bit on the weaker side for effects, but for someone who’s looking for an eighth on the lighter side, I believe this would do the trick. I do wish the trichomes were a little bit more glandular and had a more milky colouring and the flavour of smoking the flower was more prominent but I am keeping in mind that this was a sample sent from across the country. If I had access to the retail product I would try the Tectonic Truffles again to see how it compares.
