Review
I had a really great experience with these pre-rolls a few months back, so I wanted to give the flower a try and see what that was like. I usually have pretty great experiences with GreenSeal, so I was eager to see how the rebirth of Snoop Dogg’s line was. Does this hold true to the rest of their product? Let's find out…
Packaging 2/5
Incredibly average packaging. This came in a blue mylar pouch, a subtle nod to Snoop’s street legacy, which I did like, and had a boost pack inside. They did not include any dominant terpenes, but interestingly enough they did include the total cannabinoid percentage. Why? Why would I care how much CBG is in this bag before I care about what terpenes are in here? Not that they told me what the other cannabinoids were anyway… It was a weird label.
What’s going on here, D*gg Lbs?
Visual Appeal 3/5
Light green buds that were beginning to verge from green to brown. Trichomes, though plentiful, were clearly aging. This was one bag I really wish I had pulled out my scope for. Some nice foxtailing though, and a nice trim! I wish I had got to see what this bag looked like when it was fresh.
Bud Size 4/5
Basically just 3 buds in the bag, the sizing of these wasn't bad at all.
Bud Density 4/5
Fairly dense, didn’t crumble.
Moisture Level 4/5
Thank God they included an integra boost pack in this one, because when I saw the package date I was expecting this to be dry and crumbly. To my surprise, it actually held up pretty well.
Trichome Density 4/5
These had some really nice trichome coverage to it, but degrading trichomes for sure.
Aroma 2/5
This smelled very intensely of old weed, and if you looked really hard you noticed the slightest bit of something fruity underneath.
Taste 3/5
Not great. I was hoping to find a little more of that fruity taste to the bud, but this honestly just tasted like old bud.
Smoothness 3/5
I found this one to be on the harsher side. After the first night, I knew to keep my asthma inhaler within reach of my bong.
Potency 3/5
Nothing special here. Found myself constantly wanting more, and telling myself I can have another bowl after I finish whatever it is that I’m doing at the moment.
Duration of Effects 3/5
Also nothing to write home about. I kept looking for top-up bowls.
Overall 35/55 (63%)
This was a real disappointment honestly. You can see that when the product was fresh, it was probably a really great flower. Fruity smell and flavour, nice trichome coverage… But this one didn’t age well at all. The part that really disappoints me with this one is that I purchased this from my store the same day that it was delivered by OCS. Why are we still selling 8 month old product? This should have been pulled, or at the very least OCS needed to note that this was an old product on the wholesale website. I would not have requested to bring in product this old if we were being more transparent. When the industry as a whole is moving to fresher pack dates and trying to keep on top of inventory rotations, this was a real let down to see. But whether this was a GreenSeal issue or an OCS issue is one I’ll never really have the answer to. Unfortunately, I can’t recommend this product based on the experience I had with it.
