So with the arrival of spring, I decided to try some of the budget brands that I had skipped in the past and see what they really are like versus my expectations. I started with Good Supply Grand Daddy Purps and unfortunately it was almost exactly what I expected, I will say it had a nice bag aroma (that didn't last) and looked like it had been good on the outside under the scope (but did show a lot of bag damage). The aroma on opening was pretty nice and almost like wine grapes or raisins). The Boost pack helps given the age so it wasn't completely dried out and it ground with some resin still in it.

Sadly that is where the good ends. The smell dissipated fairly quickly with only a brief resurgence on grinding. Also while there was promise on the outside, the trichomes on the inside were small and not very developed. It had way too many stems for even a machine trim though, they really should have been cut off. On smoking there really wasn't much flavor other than generic ones, nothing really standing out. The high was very heady and buzzy for me, almost distillate like with few body effects. It did smoke drier than it ground and got harsher the more of it I smoked in a row. I mean it definitely isn't unsmokable and it'll get the job done. I just didn't really find much to enjoy about it though.
