Dank Drops is a unique LP where each new cultivar they put out is there for a limited time and in a small batch. I got to try their first drop a while back Korean BBQ, I remember that cultivar had a superb flavour on it, with some beautiful trichomes to match so I was very excited to try the Ice Cream Mintz.  *Like with any product review I do, it was graded through The Different Collective Grading Platform; thus, all scores are out of five.

Package: The bag is a massive big bright mint green bag with lots of information printed on the the back. It has everything from THC % to the Drying Method. The cannabis is inside a glass jar that’s very tightly sealed. I would rather have the overall outside packaging be a cardboard box with the same information and the glass jar inside to save space in dispensary drawers and the environment cause cardboard is easily more recyclable in comparison to mylar. It would also be nice to include what producer grew the flower itself, instead of just where.

Score: 4.3/5

Curing: Each bud in the glass jar (which contained 3.59 grams) bounced back into shape after being put through the squeeze test.

Score:5/5

Aroma: The Ice Cream Mintz had a lot of different notes of aromas attached to it. The biggest two notes were cream and mint with some sweet earth and vanilla at the end. Overall it smelled like Mint Ice Cream or the Mint colouring they put in the Mint Oreo Blizzards at Dairy Queen, that’s at least what my memory associates with it, it's been many years since I had ice cream or Blizzards.

Score:5/5

Bud Appeal: Each bud was a lime green with vibrant dark green spotted all over the bud. with a white coating glazing the buds making it sparkle. The stigmas were a solid orange colour, and a very decent hand trim with only a few trim leaves left. I did find a couple of fabric hairs on the outside.

Score:3.67/5

Trichomes:

 Visibility: 4/5

Colour: 4.5/5

Development: 3.5/5

The trichomes of the Ice Cream Mintz sparkled on each bud from the naked eye, giving them their easily visible score. Under the Urbanistic Desktop Microscope, you could see mediumly developed trichomes all over the outside of each bud in the 3.5g and a few robustly developed trichomes on the inside of the bud. The outside trichomes' colours ranged from some milky to some golden zone but looked beautiful nonetheless. The inside had a more milky colour to it.

Final Trichome Score: 4/5

Dry Pull: The Ice Cream Mint had a strong flavour in the dry pull with a complex swirl of mint, cream hinting back to the Mint Ice Cream from before and sagey candy-tasting notes at the end that reminded me of an old-school candy store.

Score:4.5/5

Flavour: The flavour of the Ice Cream Mintz did die down in complexity once it was lit. The first few puffs had a surprising taste of lime at the start before going into the mint and sweet cream taste that I experienced with the dry pull. The last puffs of the joint were more flavourful near the end with a lime kind of candy and the minty sweet ice cream.

Score:4.5/5

Ash Colour/Smoothness: The ash colour of the joint was a light grey with a light resin ring. The overall smoothness of the joint had a tickle on my throat throughout it.  I used Blazy Susan 1 1/4 unbleached prerolled cone.

Ash Score: 4/5  Smoothness Score: 4/5

“Effect”: So we’re not going to get into how this product made me feel because it’s going to be different from person to person. BUT! I will say that the Ice Cream Mintz will pair very well with a bunch of friends, some snacks and a Mario Party or Mario Kart night.

So the Ice Cream Mintz was a good purchase overall. The flowers were brightly coloured and the trichomes looked beautiful both inside and out. The aroma translated well into the flavour of the joint. I would probably say the biggest cons of not the Ice Cream Mintz but just Dank Drops products are the mylar bag could be turned into a cardboard box for the sake of the environment and that the producer that grew the cannabis was listed as well. Other than that I look forward to seeing what next Drop that Dank Drops puts out.
