The lovely Papa Jefe from the beautiful province of Ontario sent me this eighth. We don’t get Homage in BC at all, and we also don’t get a lot of Saskatoon cannabis, which is where this cannabis was grown. The growing company is the Artisan brand Prairie Craft Canopy. This eighth I put through The Different Collective Grading System, so we have an impartial third-party grading system to grade our flower, its consumption, and its effects. Things like packaging are my own opinion. I will score the product out of five to maintain continuity with TDC’s grading system.

Packaging:

This cannabis came in what was a plastic jar. I prefer a product that comes in glass jars or even a tuna can-style container because I find many trichomes sticking to the sides of the container due to static cling. The packaging did prevent the buds from getting squished from handling in the dispensary and going through the postal service. That said, there needed to be more information besides the standard THC CBD on the packing. It did have the terpene percentage but did not have the terpenes listed.

Score: 3/5

Curing:

The Grape Escape had a pretty good curing, with the bud bouncing back when I squished it between my fingers. It was a very slow bounce back, but it bounced back. After squishing some buds, I had a light layer of kief on my fingers.

Score: 4/5

Aroma:

The aroma of the Grape Escape wasn’t that strong when I opened the jar. I fully noticed it from just under my neck. The aromas I found the bud to have were a grape, a collection of fruits, and an herbal aroma, finishing up any strong notes I could detect.

Score: 3.5/5

Bud Appeal:

The buds in the 3.5 grams were tiny when put next to a lighter, but they still had very few trim leaves on the buds for a trim job. The colours were a very pronounced dark purple and dark green with a vibrant dark green in there as well. The buds for the Grape Escape also had brown to orange stigma colour.

Score: 3.33/5

Final Bud Score:3.51/5

Trichomes Visibility, Colour, and Development:

The trichomes were visible when I put the Grape Escape underneath my desktop microscope, and the clear colouring was apparent. However, the development of said trichomes could have been higher but decent overall.

Visibility Score: 5/5, Colour Score: 3/5, Development Score: 2.50/5

Final Trichomes Score: 3.20/5

Dry Pull:

I rolled the joint in Raw unbleached ¼ papers and Blazy Susan rolling filters. With the dry pull, I found that the joint had a strong flavouring of a berry, grape herbal blend that was very pleasant.

Score:4/5

Smoke:

At the start of my lighting, the joint overall had mostly ash and dirt with a hint of grape taste during the exhale. As the joint reached the end, the dirt taste became more burnt. I did have some in a bong and found the taste had a more pronounced grape flavour.

Score:1.50/5

Ash Colour:

The ash colour of the joint had a light grey appearance, with a slight lean toward white. I am delighted with this, as that means Homage properly flushed the cannabis.

Score:4/5

Smoothness:

With the joint's smoothness, I found that it didn’t burn my throat at the very start, but after the first quarter, I found it burning my throat all the way to the end.

Score:1/5

Final Joint Score 2.63/5

Upon opening the Grape Escape, I smelled a delightful grape aroma. However, the flavour was nearly invisible, with faint traces of grape. I am thrilled with the Grape Escape, given my experience with other flowers that come to BC from the other provinces that are often dry due to shipping. I hope you all enjoyed my review of the Grape Escape. Big shout out to @canigetalight for the care package exchange. Sorry, this took me so freaking long to publish.

Final Score:4.82/5
