Key Lime Gelato
BC OZ by BC BLACK - Key Lime Gelato
The green flows of its own will. It calls out, sometimes subtle,
sometimes very loud. Today's selection came with a recommendation
for both of these characteristics. Let us see if what's in the bag is true
to that.
Format: Flower - 28.0 g, Mylar pouch (weighed in at 28.102)
Breed: Key Lime Pie x Gelato 41
Cultivated by: Not listed
Pkg Date: Dec 18th, 2023
THC: 27.97%% CBD: 0.426%
Terpenes: 2.62%
Method of Inhalation: 0.3g, 18 inch Glass Ice Beaker
Packaging: A standard mylar pouch, but bigger, lol. There was a tad bit of extra space in
the bag, for my liking, but it did not affect the product. I could see it was sealed, puffy like a chip
bag. There was a humidity control pack inside, barely depleted I might add. All the standard info
is on the bag, and more is available via the web and social media, enough to satisfy my needs.
Bag Appeal: Opening an OZ can be daunting, to be honest. You always hope for the best
though! Thankfully, with quality being a major consideration (as this brand is known for it,) I
was greeted by a few medium-sized buds, and when I gave the bag a ruffle some nice chunky
buds appeared also, coated in frost and colourful, overall visually appealing. The smell though,
heavy terpinolene! Distinctive lime and tart green apple is what I first thought of.
Trim: Taking into consideration this is a budget-friendly OZ, the trim is still on point. Smaller
sugar leaves are visible, but not so much that they hide anything good or bad. The buds look
tight and well-formed, bulky even. Amber-colored pistils are spread out amongst the mix of light
and darker green. A good squeeze shows the cure is decent. Small crackles, but tacky, and it
sprang back a bit. Note to add that there appeared to be some cold weather effects or a crazy
pheno. What I saw were some black sugar leaves hiding here and there, looks like
Anthocyanin, just extra flavour!!
Smell: It's very complex and each smell is distinctly present. Strong ripe lime gives way to a
tart, earthiness. The smell of grassy herbs and subtle mint finish it all off nicely.
Dry Pull: N/A
Taste: That smell was intense, and inviting. The translation of smell to taste is very much
present. The flavor was on point. Inhale comes with a sour, tart, earthy-herb blend, but sharp
citrus bites your throat. When I exhaled, I could taste a little bit of green koolaid (yuss!) and
minty grassy herbs, it was nice. Smooth but also a bit rough. lol
Microbial: It appears to be free of mold, Bud rot, hairs, fibers, and bugs.
Burn/Ash: The burn was solid and produced almost full white ash, just a bit of grey, but
overall a clean burn.
Voyage: I didn't expect this to be as sedating as it is. I would recommend this as an early
evening, nighttime smoke. It has some very mellowing characteristics. The onset is rather
quick, with not much jump between energetic and dozy, lol. Just straight to the point, stoned! I
like that! Expect that old-school buzz that hits you with a body-numbing, heady, heavy-eyed,
head-to-the-fridge-buzz. And if you overindulge as I tend to do, sleepiness.
Overall, for an offering presented as budget-friendly, this hits above the mark in my
opinion. All the desired qualities are present, while the undesired qualities are not. No shake, no
seeds, no extra sticks or stems. Recommendation approved!
