Sweetgrass is a FUOPA organic-certified company located in the Kootenay region of BC. I’ve tried all their cultivars so far, so I was excited to see a new Sweetgrass product on the menu at Mood. What I love about Sweetgrass is that all of its flowers are grown in living soil, so you know you’ll have a clean smoke no matter what.
Package: The Surreal Dreams came in a dark maroon Mylar bag. The THC, CBD, and terpenes were listed on the front, along with the fact that it was living soil and that it was hand-trimmed with a slow cure. I really would like to have the harvest date listed as well as the strain's lineage.
Flower: Right away when I opened the bag the smell filled the room with hints of mango, vanilla, and a sweet tangerine. There was only one huge bud in the bag itself but it did equal 3.52 grams. The bud colour was some spots that were a faded yellow, but overall the colours were a vibrant dark green and a vibrant light green with visible short brown-red stigmas. The overall shape of the bud was more round than elongated, with very little sugar leaves left over. A truly beautiful hand trim.
Scent: The scent that filled my room was an overall pleasant scent of sweet mango mixed with a vanilla tangerine with a sour tang at the end.
Trichomes: The outside of the bud you could easily see without needing any scope or loupe it sparkled and glistened under my lightbox. The outside trichomes had majority of it’s trichomes being a milky colour with some on the outer rim of the bud being a golden colouring. The development of trichomes was highly robust and had a nice full development to them. The inside trichomes were also highly developed with more of the trichomes being a milky colouring.

Joint: I rolled a joint using Canadian Lumber The Hippie due to its medium dryness once I grinded …. ground it? Up. On the dry pull, I had a robust flavour of the sweet mango and tangerine but almost as if I was eating a mango cake, I also started to get some fennel garlic at the end.
On the first few puffs, I got the same cakey tangerine mango but lime all of a sudden made an appearance with the fennel changing into a more piney taste. The ash colour was a light grey and the joint slightly burnt my throat. The last few puffs had only the pine taste and took on a more woody taste.
Conclusion
The overall effect of the Surreal Dreams was a bright relaxing effect perfect to watch a movie to. My recommendation for a piece of entertainment to go with the Surreal Dreams would probably be the movie Stardust (originally a novel by Neil Gaiman) which is about a star falling into a magical kingdom that shares a wall with a little English town, which has a boy that just works in a shop cross the wall. Its adventure fantasy will combat any too-relaxing effect but, enough lulls in the adventure part to keep the relaxing effect to stay. Also Stardust has Robert De Niro as a sky pirate that dances ballet at one point seriously go buy an eighth of Surreal Dreams and go watch Stardust.
