7acres burners were frankly startlingly good. I can smoke surprisingly fast for as bad as my lungs are but these actually did work to sidestep that completely (not for lack of trying on my part). They build their prerolls in a very specific way to encourage slow burning and it works with some issues. How it works is there is a hollow space down the middle of the entire joint. The flower is very tightly packed around this space, it honestly feels rock hard. They also use a quite long tip to help cool the smoke. The packaging is classic for 7acres. They found a tube that works for pretty much everything they have done and I can’t really find a fault with it other than the childproofing can be a bit sticky. There is lots of room on the label for information and they use it. There is terpene percentage, strain, linage drying method and flavors to expect. It is nice that it’s in two languages but it also might have been nice to use some of that room for top terpenes. The strain in this batch is Alien Rock Candy which the linage is Sour Dubble x Tahoe Alien.

So this does not light quickly and I have heard they suggest lighting it like a cigar. It did take me a bit to get it to light evenly. It does burn very slowly even if you pull like crazy on it. I even tried seriously puffing on it but it just kept the same steady burn. Even with the slow burn, it didn't canoe at all for me. Flavorwise, the first third was lovely. It had real depth with flavors of coffee and citrus with hints of floral and cream. It really was an enjoyable flavor that I wished it was warm enough to really savor. It also got me high enough I had to stop after 2 which never happened before in prerolls. I am not kidding and many folks who know me know I can smoke for ages without feeling it because I have some lung issues that don’t let me absorb well. Now the downsides are almost as equal to it's upsides. First, it smokes a really long time, these are not for folks wanting a quick smoke even with only one. You really cannot force it to burn faster. It’s almost built like incense with how smokey and slow it goes. It's also very expensive for just a couple grams likely from how it's made. They really compressed the heck out of these prerolls. I would love to see them either as pinner 10 packs or single .75gs for special occasions. I think that might be a better sell as a pinner pack would make for a really nice way to have a bit of tiny nice smokes or single larger ones to just have a nice solid smoke. Frankly either option would be lovely since that would be much smaller and reduce all the problems in the construction while keeping most of the benefits. It might also reduce the costs hopefully since it's about $31 before tax for uninfused flower.

As I mentioned earlier, the first third is lovely while alas the rest is not nearly as. The reason for that is unfortunately that novel construction destroys the flavor after that first third and causes problems in the last third. From what I can figure, the way they do the slow burning is basically turning the preroll into a dry herb vape. The hot air is both vaporizing the nice flavor and increasing the high but leaves not much flavor at all in the last two thirds. It ended up tasting mostly woody and peppery. This also super dries out the last third which caused it to go out repeatedly without any resin to maintain the coal since it never gets large on purpose. For me personally, it started making it not fun to smoke about half way through and the last third I really wished I could rush through. The long tip did keep it from feeling hot as it burned but also frustrating with constantly relighting it. I do love this concept but I kind of hope they do something else with it in the end.
