Relief Stick Comparison
I am lucky enough to have a wide variety of relief sticks at my disposal to try. I thought it would be a fun idea to compare them all together and see which ones my 88 year old Mom would try and dare I hope even like! Read to the end to see what she says.
There is no specific order, I've written this in the order the photo was taken.
Wildflower THC/CBD
Ease of use: very easy to use, glides on nicely. The stick isn't too hard or soft.
Smell: eucalyptus and peppermint come to mind first.
Texture: I like the way this one glides. It's a perfect combo of coconut oil and Shea butter.
Heat, length of heat: for me the heat is very minimal, lasted about 20 minutes.
Effectiveness: this one really helps me with muscle pain in my legs and lower back. Relief lasted about 2 hours.
Residue: there is a bit of a layer on your skin but by the end of the day it is gone.
My Mom did not try this one. She's still hesitant to try some THC salves.
Rebound by Stewart Farms Arctic Heat
Ease of use: I really enjoyed this one. It glides on nicely.
Smell: it smells very wintery, like pine and wood.
Texture: I do find this one to be a bit soft, I hope it won't melt if it's warm out.
Heat, length of heat: I do feel the heat mildly. The warming sensation lasted less than 10 minutes.
Effectiveness: I like to put this one on my knees and lower back, but not too low! You don't want that traveling downwards.
Residue: doesn't leave a film on my skin.
My Mom didn't try this one either. Since I brought some with just CBD she was happier to try those ones instead.
Ufeelu The Feel Stick
Ease of use: I do find this stick to be dense. First time I used it I think I put too much on and had to rub some off.
Smell: it smells kind of like a Halls cough drop but nice. It smells very minty with eucalyptus.
Texture: the texture of this stick is harder than the others but once you warm it up on your skin, it is a bit easier to use.
Heat, length of heat: this stick has the strongest heat. If you like the heat sensation this one is for you.
Effectiveness: it helps with those deep down aches, the ones that hurt when it rains.
Residue: this fully depends on how much you put on. If you go lightly there isn't much, but if you add more then by the next day I can still feel it on my skin. Bonus to this thou is if you rub it into your skin more it's like it reactivates and you feel the heat again.
My Mom has tried this brand before but the stick was too hard for her very thin skin. I did advise that it has been reformulated so we opened it and I showed her how to warm it on her skin first, it was still too hard for her to try (the elderly can be a bit cold). Unfortunately her skin is very delicate.
Wildflower CBD Relief Stick
Ease of use: a nice soft stick that glides easily. I do worry it may melt a bit if in a warm climate.
Smell: Camphor and minty. The camphor smell is a little strong for me.
Texture: a softer, oiler stick
Heat, length of heat: warming sensation is mild. Lasted about 10 minutes
Effectiveness: helped with my knee pain for about 2 hours.
Residue: once it wore off the residue on my skin was minimal
My elderly Mom says… “Wildflower CBD didn't do much for my knees, worked ok on shoulder blade pain. Smell is ok”
Wildwood Labs CBD Body Balm
Ease of use: even though the stick is harder it go on nicely.
Smell: it smells strongly of cinnamon and a bit of ginger. Almost like a stick of Big Red chewing gum.
Texture: the stick is solid but also glides nicely on my skin.
Heat, length of heat: I didn't feel any heat with this one.
Effectiveness: it did help with some of my aches for about an hour and a half.
Residue: this one does leave a lingering cinnamon smell on my clothes. I can still smell it on my skin the next day.
My elderly Mom says.. worked on her knees she put some on her shoulder but couldn't stand the smell all night, said even after her shower she could smell it. Note: she doesn't like cinnamon too much.
Side bonus to Jublee skin body butter extra strength sweet Citrus. works very well and there's no smell at all to bother her. A little hard to get out of the tin and she didn't want it under her nails.
At the end of my trip my 88 year old Mom asked me if she could keep 2 products…
Wildflower CBD and Jublee body butter won her over.
I was overjoyed to see she wanted to keep 2.
A little back story. I've been a toker my whole life going back 30+ years. My parents were always against me smoking but I knew cannabis helped me. I'm so happy to finally be able to share with my Mom some of the relief I've been able to feel.
