Review
Packaging 4/5
I really like their logo! The retro theme that they’re going for nicely fits the theme of their drinks - everyone’s childhood favourite sodas. I also appreciated their use of a black Can’t Top for CR packaging. For accessibility purposes, these are definitely my favourite.
However, they put the excise stamp directly on the part that you would break and pull off making it incredibly difficult to open and I couldn’t do it without having to pull out a knife and prying it off. I know these stamps have to be placed in specific locations on the product, but a little bit more mindfulness of those stickers to the end-consumer would be appreciated. I wish I took a photo of the sticker to include with this review.
Visual Appeal 5/5
This drink was very light coloured, the same colour as lemon or lime juice, and slightly foggy. It was refreshing to see a soda that wasn’t practically glowing with artificial colourings.
Aroma/Taste 4.5/5
Knocked this one out of the park! The taste was spot on to a SevenUP or a Sprite. It was an almost perfect score, but the one thing I did find it was lacking just slightly was carbonation. After the first few sips it was starting to go flat.
Effects 3/5
It's a Canadian 10mg edible. I can’t give it any higher than average here. If you follow my reviews, you know that any edibles all get scored at a 3/5 unless I am able to get any noticeable effects from them.
Overall 16.5/20 (83%)
This was an excellent drink, and really had that touch of nostalgia by replicating something we all grew up with. Just like its cannabis-free replica, this did come in a little high on the sugar (36g) so maybe not ideal for those who may be monitoring their glucose levels. While I had some difficulties getting into the can due to the placement of the excise stamp, that isn’t necessarily uncommon. The sticker has to be at least partially on the CR packaging, so I get it, but it would be nicer if they went half on the can and half on the CR lid (accessibility is always at the forefront of my non-smokeable reviews). If this had just a touch more carbonation, they’d be perfect, but I wouldn’t hesitate to repurchase these or to recommend them to customers.
