Packaging
This was packed in a lovely black glass jar and included a boost integra pack for humidity control. On the jar they managed to fit in the cannabinoid and terpene content, but in all honesty there wasn’t a whole ton of space left on the label to include any further information. They did what they could, but I would have liked to see a little more information like growing conditions and lineage.
The Buds (Size, Density, Moisture Level, Trichomes)
The buds in this jar were very large, tri-coloured, and covered in a white frosty layer of trichomes. The shades of green, orange, and purple were all very vibrant and really stood out when the buds were ground up. The moisture content was great though, and the buds were fairly dense. They had a little bit of a squish to them, but no crumbling or cracking.
Aroma & Taste
When you crack the jar, there is a very sweet & fruity aroma that comes through with a little bit of that unmistakable blackberry kush aroma. The flavour wasn’t quite as bold as the flavour that usually comes with legacy blackberry kush, but it was still nice. It also sort of reminded me of a root beer flavour.
Smoothness
An incredibly smooth smoke with no coughing.
Potency & Duration of Effects
Unfortunately, this sort of missed the mark on effects. There are very few sedating effects, if any, which might make this a great day time smoke for some people. I tried wake & baking this one on a day off to see if it had any heavier effects in the morning, and still found it very weak. However, I did find this to be a great mood booster thanks to high limonene content. I was struggling with some trauma looping & anxiety one day, and it immediately took away the ruminating thoughts.
Overall
This was a nice visual experience, and my first time consuming a Pistol & Paris product. On the processing side, they did a fantastic job. Really gorgeous buds, beautifully trimmed, nice aroma, thoughtfully packaged… it passes the test for everything except for the actual high. I found the effects very underwhelming, and the jar was finished a little quicker than I had anticipated. I won’t be repurchasing this one, or even likely to recommend it unless it's to a more novice smoker. But that being said, I wouldn’t hesitate to try another cultivar from these guys. It’s clear that they put a lot of attention to detail into this product, so I’d love to see what else they have. Some strains aren’t for everyone, and this one just might not be for me.
