Rollin' into another review here. This week I decided to pick up Rosin Heads Mint hash rosin drops. Baking is on my mind lately as the seasons change.
Packaging: this little black tube pops open by squeezing the sides and the top pops. some of the easier packaging to open, nothing confusing about it. Packaging includes the iconic rosin heads logo and info info the infusion and milligrams. This allows you to see how much you are getting per “drop”
Flavour: straight up they taste like rosin. Hints of mint from the addition added to the 25 pack SKU and I don’t recommend eating these like chipits (for science). Good thing is that isn’t their intention as their master chocolatier says anyways, these are suppose to be swallowed whole and 1 at a time until desired effect. I waited about 30 min before having 2 more myself.
This is when the creativity for baking during the winter season hit, added to chocolate chip muffins these gave a nice hint of mint and a fun spin and kick to the classic favourite of mine. Recipe Below.
2 & ½ cups (315g) all-purpose flour
1 tbsp (13g) baking powder
1 tsp (5g) baking soda
½ tsp (2.5g) salt
½ cup (114g) unsalted butter, melted and cooled
1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 cup (250ml) buttermilk
1 tbsp (15ml) vanilla extract
1 & ½ cups (275g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Add a couple of rosin drops per muffin once portioned
Baking Instructions;
Preheat oven to 425°F. Spray a 12 cup muffin tray with non-stick cooking spray or line with paper liners.In a large bowl, toss together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and chocolate chips. Set aside.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the melted butter, sugar, eggs, milk and vanilla. Slowly add to the dry ingredients. Gently fold together until JUST combined.
Divide the batter into the 12 muffin cups, add a couple rosin drops to each muffin depending on your tolerance level and bake at 425°F for 5 minutes. Then reduce the oven temperature to 375°F and continue to bake for another 12-15 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Do not over bake or the muffins will be dry. Let cool for about 5-10 minutes and enjoy warm!

Now back to the Review...
Effects: about 30 minutes in my body began to melt after having 3 chips via swallowing. My mind began to scatter and I just wanted to, chill. I went home and watched a couple movies before taking a nice nap. Whether the nap was related to I cannot tell. Enjoyed the full body buzz from the rosin infusion that makes me feel great when I need most.
