I got a batch of older, from January, of Fantasy Island from Rocky Mountain. This batch was really hot and cold in every element. Examining it, grinding and smoking felt like living through the Simpsons cursed meme. Starting from the bag, I actually really like it. It is big enough to not crush the buds but shaped in a way that isn't too awkward to store. It also had a ton of information about the cultivar from lineage to grower but no harvest date.
Unfortunately the buds were very brown and definitely showing their age. There was a ton of aroma still going from the flower however. It had notes of funky gas and citrusy pine. The buds also felt damp when breaking them open to the point that I was worried about potential bud rot since there was no humidity pack included. The trichome outside were pretty shredded but looked thick inside with a hard lean to golden inside and out. Despite the feel and trichomes, it still ground dry without the kinetic sand texture.
I thought the smoke itself was fine but it tasted terrible. It was very earthy with a kind of chemical perfume back end which turned into just burnt and ashy at the end. In the end though, the effects were a really lovely and heavy relaxation creeping high. It was really good and gave me a really good night. It's definitely worth a try probably in a bong since it's too moist for a vaporizer potentially and not fun in a joint.
