I tried out the little 2g packets of Saltspring Magic (also known as Magi) Pine Tar. I like this format because you get another joint out of them and lets you really taste the flower over time. The buds likely due to a bit of age were not the most impressive. They were a little faded and a touch crispy but had a nice aroma all the same. Despite the name Pine Tar, I didn't get much pine but a lot of citrus, earth and a sour funk. There was also an underlying sweetness to it. The development under the scope was good even if a little amber on the inside.  

A lot of the aroma lasted to the flavor of the smoke as well. The earthy funk lasted through the first half of the joint as well. It did kind of turn into a musky muddle at the end but still not unpleasant.  The smoke was fairly smooth with a slight tickle which I was surprised by since the buds ground kind of dry. The high was quiet but pleasant. Much more of a body high for me than a head high and definitely gentle relaxing. The quality here was nice overall so these 2gs are really doing a great job showing why you might want to get the larger size next time.
