The Entourage Effect
Everybody comes in asking for the highest THC for the lowest price, and those infused pre-rolls fly off the shelves!! I want to touch on something that will make your experience that much more, I’m talking about the entourage effect, when all the cannabinoids come into play making your experience way more than just being high. When you put the three amigos into play you get a happy floaty euphoric high without the space cadet qualities. I speak of the three amigos not only because Growtown makes a pre-roll called this but it contains the top 3 cannabinoids THC, CBD, and CBG. Being not too much and not too little, I felt full of warmth and virtually pain free. They work so well together!
“I don’t feel the effects from legal edibles, the dose is too low.” Is something I hear all too often and people like the ease of popping a chewy candy rather than dosing an oil. Even though I have mentioned plenty of times, they can make it themselves at a stronger dosage than we can carry in store. But beside the point, if you dose a little bit of each cannabinoid they play off each other making the effect way more well-rounded and possibly hit harder and last longer (of course everyone is different, so each person will vary.)
The big 6 are THC, CBD, CBG, CBC, THCv, & THCa.
I first started dosing CBG in conjunction with THC and from my experience it does accentuate it making the THC hit harder and last longer in effects. Once CBC came to market I was just as excited to add it into the roster. One day I had inadvertently got high because I had nothing but 2 packs of edibles in my purse, CBG pearls and CBC feelz, in about 30 minutes I felt a headband tighten across my head and I was ready to go home. I don’t know how I finished what I was doing. I guess I floated through those hours because I ended up at home with food next I knew.
CBC on its own made me feel like my coffee had a coffee, I felt super focused and creative ready to attack the day. It’s a very uplifting high. If you’re looking for something to destroy the munchies try THCv it’s marketed as an appetite suppressant. THCa is the acidic form of THC usually found in diamonds or isolates.
When looking for edibles on the legal market most of them are made with a distillate base, the THC is isolated and will only work so much and is only so strong. Next time search for a live resin or hash rosin edible and see the difference in the high on its own. For something fun add the other cannabinoids, I will usually take 10mg of each cannabinoid and chase it with a cannabis beverage to keep the high going. Then for an extra special occasion add an infused pre-roll but not those flavourful ones, I grab the rosin roll by Simply Bare or the Dab Bods Live Resin infused for something to share.
It’s all about the input for what you are looking to get out of it. The folks with the lower tolerance, stick to those distillate based edibles. A lot of them start at 2mg and you can find your perfect dosing. If you have a higher tolerance, looking for the high then dabble into my ideas I hope they come in handy. ;)
There are so many things on the legal market and some of them can be intimidating with all the names you can’t pronounce. I love getting giggly with an edible night with my favourite roomy and the entourage effect, a game of Skip Bo has never been more fun!
