Astro Lab - Interstellar Live Rosin Cream Soda
10mg THC
Live Rosin Infused
Price: $6.50-7.75
Review Date: February 6, 2025
Packaging
This was packaged in a tall 355ml can, and used a black Can’t Top for CR packaging. In my opinion, this is definitely the gold standard for beverage packaging options ensuring that accessibility is kept in mind for the end consumer. Otherwise, the packaging was pretty standard. Love the pop of colour in their logo though!
Visual Appeal
Colour-wise I wasn’t expecting this one at all. It was very cloudy, and almost looked like the same colour as a ginger beer or some of the craft ginger ales. It definitely didn’t have any neon colouring that many have come to associate with their favourite cream sodas. That being said, I’m a huge fan of them not adding any unnecessary colourings. Nicely done, Astro Lab!
Aroma/Taste
This was really tasty! Heavy on the vanilla taste that leaves an almost velvety texture in your mouth the way a cream soda does. On the second sip though, I was quickly reminded that I forgot to roll my can (whoops) because the live rosin taste came through pretty noticeably. It wasn’t a bad flavour at all though, it meshed with the soda flavour really nicely. I also find some drinks sometimes miss the mark on carbonation, but this was great!
Effects
We’re still discussing a 10mg dose, so unfortunately as quickly as I thought I felt a little something, it disappeared. But many times with distillate edibles, I don’t even feel that peak so the live rosin infusion is going a long way here.
Overall
This was fabulous! Assuming you aren’t diabetic or adhering to a strict keto/low carb diet, these were great. They are pretty heavy on the sugar, coming in at 33g per can but find me a cream soda that isn’t sweet - I’ll wait. At 140 calories they are something to be mindful of, but if these got released in a zero sugar/cal format, these are something I’d be drinking a lot more regularly. It’s been a while since I’ve done a drink review, but this was one I was really excited about. If you haven’t tried it yet, this was a solid drop for 2025. I’ll be transparent enough and admit that this was received as a sample at the Tether event in Toronto, but at a retail price of $6.50-7.75 (store depending) these weren’t badly priced either. A lot of the more boujee brands retail over the $8 mark so this was fair! I’d be happy to recommend these to a customer, or even repurchase them.
