Are potheads ruining pot?

Yeah, I know f*ck me and the title of this one.

This seems like another hate post, well it kind of is. More of a self hate for wanting the best products to match their price tags. Quality equal to cost would be ideal. Asking more than that is just crazy yet I ask it on the regular.

Also I beg for consistency and information but also ask for new and exotic strains. I'm probably one of the worst customers, I don't care about thc, I care about EVERYTHING ELSE. In this market I have to judge a book by its cover,  and price tag.

In the eyes of the legal producers we are ruining pot. We have high demands and silly consumers.

High thc percentages seem to be the rage, the inflated numbers are just becoming a joke with budtenders and yet the same question remains. "Can I get the highest thc % for the lowest cost " but they aren't asking for the highest in stock at twenty dollars, it's wanting over thirty percent for twenty dollars.

As consumers we demanded more. Whether it be more savings per gram, higher thc, consistent products, a variety of strains and with the right information; it's too much. It's so much they had to categorise cannabis tiers. We should know what they are by now but the lines are so blurred that it doesn't make sense to the average consumer. Heck even consumers are put into messy categories.

These are the briefs of those categories.

Budget: Cheap big box weed. From 15$ to 25$

Mid tier: it's a lottery jar, is it good or is it bad. 26$ to 35$

Top shelf: big box craft-ish. 35$ to 54$

Craft: Micro grow limited strain 26$ to 60$

And the consumers for them:

New comer/light smoker: nothing fancy, keeps it cheap and easy. Budget to mids.

Daily smoker: consumes daily, "high tolerance". Mids.

The Chad: Smokes for clout. Top shelf & Craft.

The Budtender (Jr.): Still learning and curious. Budget and craft.

The Budtender (Sr.): smoked the menu by now. Mids, top shelf and craft.

The reviewer: likes pretty weed and the new drops. Top shelf and craft with the occasional mid.

Generally these are the stereotypes used it seems. Every LP has their own tier list, this was mine. This isn't exact or an absolute science and the lines are violently blurred.

With our demands and wavering brand loyalty companies seem to suffer and seek the next next big thing. Humans are fickle creatures who like the same thing yet also crave change.

Personally I like the same thing over and over again but I'm always searching for that new item to replace the last one. I'm not the only one.

With cannabis growing cycles, testing, curing and the rest it's hard to determine what the next craze will be, and that's what hurts us all. That and taxes.

Are potheads really ruining the industry or are they asking for better overall?

No, we're just making it harder for companies overall.

Is the demand for cheaper products killing what we know and love?

Yes, due to lp's stressing plants, rushing production, forcing R&D to come up with the best next thing.

But we aren't the only ones making this difficult, the government is also making decisions that we the consumer dont have any choice about. The rules and regulations seem to change without actually changing.

As always
