The 1 gram flower option; WHY IS THIS STILL A THING?

"Fifteen bucks little man, put that shit in my hand and if that money doesn't show. You're gonna owe me, owe me, owe." - Jay from Jay and Silent Bob strike back.

Since the dawn of cannabis one gram options were available, nothing like a dime bag filled to the brim with the sticky icky. Some of us still have some of those funky crazy patterned dime bags hidden somewhere, some might not even know what I'm talking about.

Now with legalization and packaging laws, the options are in huge bulky jars, mylar packs or even in a plastic tube. It seems redundant and wasteful. Sure, there are consumers who don't smoke that much but it doesn't seem like the lightweights are buying them. Most customers I see want one gram PRE ROLLS, not the flower option.

I could have sworn a year or two ago we were done with this. That production of one gram packs was over, and yet here we are. Back at it with several companies jumping on board. I feel like the downfall is when a niché market opens up and someone has to fill it. Sadly most of the time that small sector needs to just go away. This is one of them I feel.

The cost and overhead for this are pretty strange, prices fluctuate from 5.95 to 14.95 for one gram of over packed products. Production costs are just as strange since you're paying for the labor, the product, packaging and marketing.

At least most companies in the vaping industry are trying for smaller packs but with less information. Damned if we do and damned if we don't eh?

The list of complaints from me continues, it takes up room in the vault and displays. They sit for a while since you can get 3.5g for 5 to 8 dollars more of a budget brand. One gram option in everything else is very understandable and welcoming but I was hoping the industry as a whole could evolve past this. The practicality of it just seems useless.

What do I know? Maybe in some areas they sell like popcorn at a busy movie theater, but they are a slow move. Even as an upsell on an oz, most would prefer a pre roll, edible or drink; now that the drink carry limit has been modified. I personally don't see the point.

From an economical standpoint it's a waste, from a consumer standpoint it's a sample that's not a large commitment. Pre-rolls are known to taste differently than their flower counterparts due to processing differences from time to time.

Personally I say f*ck the one gram flower option other than educational samples. Most 1 g options feel like sh!t in a mylar bag anyways.
